I’ve attached a few photos of a family trip to Peru. We hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, and then some. The Andes are so big, the Inca ruins so extensive–it’s hard to fathom even when I’m standing right here looking at it. The photos go from Inca agricultural terracing at Moray, to salt mines at Salinas, to a festival at Urubama. Then the trekking started at km. 82 of the Inca Trail, continued over the 14,000 foot Abra de Warmihuanusca pass, a campsite at Phuyupatamarca, at 12,000 feet, and then — after 4 days of hiking — the first sight of Machu Picchu from the Gate of the Sun.
Utterly amazing.
